Singing Dolphins Do Batman 168

The results of two scientific studies have shown that dolphins are capable of recognizing rhythms and pitch and are able to reproduce them. In order to best demonstrate this ability the scientists chose the epic, Batman theme song and were able to teach a shortened version to the dolphins who reproduced it in response to certain stimuli.

Thd scientists asked the dolphins about tunes and they thought the question was about tuna so they all signed up.

Ugh... YOU are woefully incorrect. While the dolphin's singing voice may not be as pretty as yours, TFA clearly states that the dolphin did in fact "sing":

The dolphin spontaneously vocalised to the rhythms, so the researchers started to reward the male with fish whenever it matched its 'singing' to the rhythms.

By the end of the studies, the scientists could show an object, such as the Batman doll, which represented a certain rhythm-vocalisation combo to the dolphin, and it would create the correct sounds both vocally and using the switch.

Maybe the phrase 'create the correct sounds vocally' is ambiguous. If the 'correct sounds' consist of a melody and rhythm, we call that singing. No matter how bad it might be.
