Journal FortKnox's Journal: The Next Bond Movie: Casino Royale 25
Looks like the next Bond will be Casino Royale. I wonder how they will change it (it is the first Bond book, and heavily involves SPECTRE IIRC).
There is talk about how Brosnan played his last Bond, but I have a feeling he'll do just one more.
Honestly, I'd HATE to see a popular actor (Orlando Bloom, Colin Farrel, etc..) as a Bond... I'm thinking someone who would do a good job (someone suggested this a long time ago) would be Clive Owens (from the movie "Closer").

That reminds me of that line in Tootsie, when the producer instructs the cameraman to back off because she wants Dustin Hoffman's character to look "softer". His response, "How do you feel about Cleveland?".

OTOH, if you live in the movies only, Connery was tolerable.

As for Casino Royale, I think the Peter Sellers/David Niven version is pretty definitive :-)

Someone told me once that watching Clive Owens you'll notice he's a ham. A good ham, but a ham. To her, Clive Owens would be the second coming of Roger Moore. Not a bad thing in my book.
Personally I think the American Matthew McConaughey would do a bang-up job. My pick after that is Hugh Jackman. Both are extremely versitile actors who can be tough, smarmy, likable and generally have fun with the role. These would be the Sean Connery style Bonds.
