Journal RangerRick98's Journal: Firefox /. Rendering Bugfix via Adblock 14
UPDATE (10/25/2004): The bug is evidentally going to be fixed for Firefox 1.1. More information is available at the bugzilla URL mentioned in the comments.
Okay, I've only had this going for about two days, but so far it seems to be working, and I usually have to reload/reflow
Anyway, as most/all Firefox users know,
Anyway, here's what I did to fix it, and since then, I haven't had any formatting problems:
- Get adblock either from their official site or from Mozilla Update
- Restart Firefox to install the extension
- Go to Slashdot
- Click on Adblock at the lower-right

- Click OK

I take you find it an intermittent bug - happening infrequently?
I'm using the workaround of flicking [Ctrl]+[-] then [Ctrl]+[+] to fix mangled /. pages.

Yay. Excellent, well done. Some pages still don't render perfectly the first time every time but the difference is dramatic. Maybe Slashdot should just simply remove the offending pix.gif, huh? Seems the simplest solution.

I agree. What's more, it already has been -- just about a year ago. The thing is, the changes haven't been incorporated back into the slashcode. Check out this article. [alistapart.com]
