Journal mystereys's Journal: Ugh. So very sick. 1

Which is better when you're sick and at work:
-be medicated and deal with any side-effects from the drugs
-be sick and deal with, well, being sick.

When I got to work, I was leaning toward the former, so I took some over the counter cold medicine. Now, I'm leaning towards the latter... I'm so spaced out right now.

The ideal solution? Have employers change the rules so that any time off for being sick isn't deducted from so-called "personal leave time." That way, if I'm out sick for two days, I won't have to cut two days off any vacations I may be planning. Also, I won't be at work sick and expose my co-workers to my germs.

  • My previous employer offered three sick occurences in a year. An occurence was pretty cool, because it means "Stay home until you're well." Out two weeks? As long as you have a note saying you're safe to return to work, it's a single occurence. You do have to call in each day to say you will still be out, even if they know you will be out, unless you have a good excuse (in an ambulance, in a coma).

    It was really nice.
