limpdawg's Journal: Implementing new medium access protocol on 802.11 card

Journal by limpdawg

The senior project for my computer engineering degree is to implement a new medium access protocol, that our professor has developed, on an 802.11 wireless network card as a replacement for CSMA/CA. What we need to determine is what hardware is it feasible to disable the current access protocol and implement the new protocol on. Once we know what to buy then the university can acquire it. So if anybody knows which type of card I should use, and how to get ahold of the tools for it I would appreciate it.
