Dirty Harry & the BLM Thugs

  • I caught some blurbs on FNC a few days ago, but I have such distrust of them nowadays (which is a sad commentary on today since they're certainly much more trustworthy than any other). I heard something about the ranchers being legally in the wrong, and the government trying to solve this for a long time, despite the (very telling) government heavy-handedness. But I assume FNC would run it for days anyways, to get ratings from Right-wingers.

    But that last parenthetical part is where I wanted to go with this

    • p.s. FNC did have a good weekend special on govermnent bullying one or two weekends ago. They covered shakedowns of Gibson Guitar and others, but one was a ranching family, have no idea if it's the same as the one involved in the news this week, but apparently the federal goverment had four armed squads from four different departments go pay them a visit to try to intimidate them, from four different (strained) angles of concern.

      I.e. it's not just the agencies under DHS that are now talking and working toge

      • Here is a good summary => http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-04-12/why-standoff-bundy-ranch-very-big-deal [zerohedge.com]
        I rather hope that the overreach is bad enough in this case to bring justice to Harry Reid, who's had it coming for far too long.
        • If rancher Bundy took the million he owed and paid it to the state of Nevada, then for him it's about states rights and he's a patriot.

          If he didn't, then for him it's about the money and he's a crook.

          • I guess if there wasn't such a broad pattern of federal abuse over the last 5 years, I'd be more inclined to agree with you.
            • My enemy's enemy is my friend?!? Both parties to that little spat are criminal assholes as far as I'm concerned. FNC's making him out to be a hero notwithstanding.

              p.s. And I sure hope those snipers were for the citizens' protection, in case the armed government goons got out of hand. Otherwise I'm going to think that my theory, about our government pursuing protecting itself the most from the people (that it instead is suppsed to serve), might be onto something. And that could go to my head.

  • I haven't seen you post a link to a legitimate (ie, not just another conservative blog catering to conspiracy theorists) news site that links Harry Reid to this. Please, enlighten us. We know that by virtue of the consonant after his name you hate him just as much as you hate President Lawnchair. I'd like to know though if there is a legitimate connection between Reid and the BLM going after this ranching family.
