The USA has its DMCA.
The European Union has its EUCD coming up.
The other countries have either low standards of living, rampant racism, or tough immigration policies.

So... where does this mean you should move to? Canada.

Be the true capitalist while being branded the Open Source Communist, work on your own code freely. After all, if you're not allowed to innovate, why not move to somewhere you can? The droves of programmers and technologists will bring powerful lobbying for technology and user-friendly policy. And the valuation of other nations will fall.
