Journal famazza's Journal: What to do after receive a death threat? 2

I thought it would never happen to me, but last week I received a death threat. I'm not too worry about this, the threatner lived in my house the whole year of 2001, I don't think he can actualy do any real harm.

But I really don't know what to do about this, I should have this on tape, but I didn't expect this kind of thing. What else can I do?

Does anybody else has passed through any kind of situation like this? Does anybody else has anythig good to say?

What to do after receive a death threat?

  • 1) take seriously. inform the constabulary. most of us have a desire to kill someone (who may be perceived as a threat/uberAnnoyance) from time to time. however, most people also don't say it or act on it. if someone isn't able to filter the thought from their verbal output, they may not be able to filter it from their actions. and the most dangerous people don't appear to be so. the police may not be able to do anything about it right away (see part 2). if you are dealing with a latent psychopath/sociopath, and you get killed, they at least will have a place to start looking...
    2) if your dollars permit, invest in a microcasette recorder with an extension microphone. it's a cool device even outside of your situation. it can help you be and appear organized.
    it can also help document further abuses of your person, at which point the police may be able to do more for you.

    hope that helps.
  • don't be an anonymous coward ;-)
    let everybody know it.
    It's just the first step. Nobody will really
    care, but that will help you to avoid him hide
    his anger until he really does something dangerous

For God's sake, stop researching for a while and begin to think!
