Chacham's Journal: Verbiage: AIM: On the new version.

Well, AOL added some neat tools to AIM. Screen name "linking", that is allowing more than one name to be signed in at the same time. Finally! And with one list, it's seems to be a nice idea. However, the service is probably overloaded right now. I keep getting timeouts when trying to "link".

There's also the addition of bots, including one to return addresses. AOLYellowPages answers right away. Very nice.

They seem to have stolen an idea from MSN. Certain messages make a yellow square popup on the bottom-right on the desktop. Not sure if i like it though. The box is much too large. But the idea is neat. Microsoft seems to do user interface very well.

iChat Connectivity

iChat has always been able to connect with AIM for chatting, but the new version of each will allow video conferencing as well.

My parents finally moved into the new century and got DSL. I'll have to set them up with a camera so they can chat with me and my sister out in RI.
