  • You won't foe him because the fact is, you enjoy being angered in this way. It gives you something to whine about in your 'oh-so-hip' journal. Isn't that right porky?
  • Man, you need to get with the program. You foe almost anyone you see use an expletive -- You do it to the extent that your foe list is full! I am probably foe'd for the same reason.

    If you hate it so much that you have to gripe about it endlessly, why don't you just run a proxy server that censors the vile language and optionally replaces it with something else. It's just a couple of regex's. There is probably some kind of browser plugin out there that actually does this for you. This is slashdot, right? Yo
    • That's actually a really good idea. I know there's at least one piece software out there for internet explorer that will replace relevant words with hyerlinks to specific web sites. Modifying it to replace expletives with 'bork bork bork' shouldn't be too hard.

      But then I got to thinking- what do most posts on slashdot have in common? Improper spelling! That might make the task a bit more difficult.

        Been thinking about that for a while. Problem is, i use Mozilla. Also, that'll only work on *this* computer. Less of a problem is stories. I get the daily email. The filter wouldn't help that.

        So, i just haven't tries it yet. But, i guess i kind of want to.

    I don't think the word "bullshit" qualifies as an expletive. I remember when I first heard it on TV in the 70s, I though, "can they say that on TV"? But I found out that although it contains the less acceptable "shit", it is not considered to actually be "foul language".

    • The one thing I CAN'T stand is people who claim that they don't use profanity on the grounds that it "lowers the tone" of the discussion.

      I don't fault Chacham for foeing people who use bad words. I agree with him that it's important to guard what enters your mind.

      However, I think that the content of one's message "lowers the tone" of the discussion more than specific foul words. I mean, we could discuss the merits and glory of Nazism with pure, flowery language. We can use clean words to discuss such fa

        However, the foul words can also be an indicator.
