You are probably here because you clicked on my sig.
You want to know why javascript is awful and should be disabled by everyone.

The link below is to a page that uses some very simple javascript code to repeatedly open up an intifinte number of windows. In those windows are some disgusting images, which you will want to close as quickly as possible. Javascript has taken control of away from you, and will not allow you to leave without a fight.

So, if you are smart, you will disable javascript on all web browsers you have access too, and tell all the websites you visit that you are unable to use their javascript features, which are always pointless, and would be implimented much better without the use of javascript.

  • I have to disagree - sure, JavaScript can be abused, but so can anything else. In reality, JavaScript is the *only* environment that can be assumed to be present in nearly all browsers.

    The differnces between the various dialects, JavaScript, Jscript, ECMAscript, are all far less troublesome than the differences between various incompatible JVM/JREs under Java.

    Unlike Flash and its ilk, JavaScript works without installing plug-ins whose functionality and compatibility vary from release to release and platf

      Bull... No HTML of any kind is ever going to open a million windows, unless I tell it to do so.

      The internet is an UNTRUSTED network, yet people are using browsers that must "trust" a website not to contain malicious code? That's just not right, and I'm sure, if most people realized it, they'd shut-off javascript as well.
