Geotopia's Journal: Plain text, no attachments

Why can't folks just use plain text in emails!? HTML is the worst thing to ever happen to this fine medium. People get all fancy formatting an email and think it looks real pretty on their screen, but it looks like garbage on all the recipients' computers.
And what about attachments. Send me xyz in an email I says, and the person sends me an email with a word .doc attachment instead of just pasting the message into the text. The worst are job seekers that send me a file called "resume.doc". Makes sense to them, I guess, but my Attachments folder is full of these files "resume.doc 1", "resume.doc 2", ... "resume.doc n", where n approaches infinite.
Note to recent graduates, before you send me your resume, make a plain text version (keep it easy with the tabs please) or at least put your name in the filename of the attachment.
