Journal marcushnk's Journal: Erk..

Had a scary insight into my subconscious last night..
I had a recurring dream.. and every time I woke up, and went back to sleep it would start again..
It wasn't a pretty dream either.. its was bloody, and violent and involved alot of pain... on my behalf..

I can't think of any outside (real world) influence that might have planted the seed for this dream.. so it came from me alone. It wasn't pleasant, and involved having all my soft bits "nail gunned" and "steel pinned" to a wooden door.. not pleasant at all.

Nuff said on that *shudder*.

I've been playing around with the nullsoft "WASTE" program.. just seeing what it can do on my home network.. Its a bit untidy, and clumsy (opens waaaay too many windows up) but all in all is a nice idea.. I can't wait to see an official fork of it on the net..

been getting a lot of material for my "Chronicles of J" collection.. some very funny/sad stuff there.. one day it might even be as famous as the BOFH or the "George collection"..

Getting excited about my new desktop.. I'm building the specs for it this week.. *drool* (I know, Lame isn't it)

I LOVE the new Kyocera Photocopier/printer/scanner setups we have.. I'm getting more and more use out of them every day.. and they're restoring my faith in printer tech slowly, day by day..
I'm trying to get our AS400 to print and staple to the things over the network right now.. is a difficult but not impossible challenge.. JUST THE WAY I LIKE THEM :-)

I'm getting a good laugh out of the whole SCO/IBM/Linux thing at the moment.. The quote from Linus Trovalds was just golden :
"As for what he thinks of SCO's actions, Torvalds in an e-mail interview compared the fight between SCO, IBM and Novell Inc. to bad TV. "Quite frankly, I found it mostly interesting in a Jerry Springer kind of way. White trash battling it out in public, throwing chairs at each other. SCO crying about IBM's other women. ... Fairly entertaining," said Torvalds. "

Bloody excellent :-)

On the subject of good quotes.. here is one that would make a great sig :
"Imagine a school with children that can read and write, but with teachers who cannot, and you have a metaphor of the Information Age in which we live." - Peter Cochrane

Ok, enough for today.. I have inspiration now..
