Journal FortKnox's Journal: Classic Sci-Fi Auction 20
Wow.
Ebay Live will be auctioning "Classic Sci-Fi Props" (go ahead and check it out, there are previews and expected pricing).
Everything from an Alien Pulse rifle, to the earpiece Uhura used in ST4. Lotsa star trek stuff, but also aliens, the original batman, and even the original vadar mask (which is expected to go around $50k, but I see it more in the hundreds of thousands).
But for the poor, there are lots of ST:TNG props that will go around $100-$500.

Of course, if you have $50K+ to spend on a freaking movie prop, you probably have enough money to get laid. Although I have a mental picture of a pimple-faced, wookie-shirt-wearing, long-haired, greasy geek who has spent the last 17 years saving for this day.

To each his liking. It's a friggin movie/TVshow after all.

I agree completely. I fully apply as "Dirty Old Man". Heheh

Unless it's Ender's Game, I'm not all that fond of it if it's Sci-Fi. Some Sci-Fi is ok to watch, like Battlestar Galactica because it was something I grew up with and I remember the fun at the Universal Studios display. Aside from that, I think most of it blows. Unfortunatly, German and French TV don't show British comedy because "people don't get it". Though I have seen some Monthy Python on German TV... and of course Benny Hill on French TV, but that one shouldn't be a surprise.
It's amazing the cultural diversity of humor. American vs. German vs. English vs. Japanese. I know a lot of people who don't get Japanese humor at all, while I find it hilarious. In the same vein, I know Japanese people who ca

I'm geeky enough to see a TNG Varon-T Disruptor prop, know what it is, and think to myself "They're really underestimating the value of that thing. After all, it's banned in the Federation, and only five of them were built."
But I'm not geeky enough to actually want to buy anything. And that's an encouraging thing. :-)
