Journal Jeremiah Cornelius's Journal: Proof of Astroturf Modding and I am Targeted. 10
Kicker that proves the targeting? This comment is more than 2 weeks old. The comment is May 131, and mods are all June 15.
Someone is paranoid that we will sink Win 8.
Guess what? We won't - 'cause turds float to the top.

Presuming this was targeted for nefarious purposes, The amount of mods to that almost suggest the PR firms have social media tools, even on Slashdot of all places, to influence readers opinion. They would need quite a few accounts to pull this off.
I thought Slashdot was a little more resistent to that sort of thing by design as opposed to sites like Reddit.

Didn't expect to see that on /. This is exactly why I metamod. I have some mod points right now (your comment is insightful) but the discussion is too old so it won't let me use one (and rightly so, this is two weeks + 1 day old). It's also interesting that they modded it just before it got archived.
As to PR firms having people on /., there have been some really weird comments lately. It's possible.
Just wow. (Score:1)
Slashdot ought to track moderations for a bit, and simply out these accounts. I know that's an icky area to go into, but seriously... there's astroturfing with words, at least that can be argued against, and there is this... cowardly brownshirt bullshit. Just bah. Thank you for all your fine posts good sir.
