well i thought for some reason i had to test new software. this was a mistake, i don't have any dumpster machines to work on, and my wireless is wpa only. so i decided to see if my machine could handle 64bit software (it has a nice shiny label saying it does) well the software installed (linux mint 12 kde-64) but boy that thing did something to the hardware, cause it broke the wifi for everything installed, except windows and even then only when using the wifi button twice for 5 seconds a press. true i am an adult i have access to tv and a phone i don't perse require internet to live, but now i have to findout if BSD will save this machine. no i won't trash it, just wipe the drive dediacte it to use as a movie player only, which will leave me buying a wpa wifi stick for the desktop i don't use right now(because i didn't want to buy a wifi stick). i will miss my laptop, though.
