Journal pqnelson's Journal: FreeBSD, Euler, and Puzzles

So I have been studying the xv6 source code, in conjunction with Bach's Design of the UNIX system and McKusick's Design and Implementation of the FreeBSD Operating System, hoping to be prepared to play around with the FreeBSD source code.

In addition, I've been training in mathematics hoping to become as good as I once was at calculating. Of course, I can still do proofs (that's all I do!)...but I would like to be a human calculator (of sorts).

I found the Euler project, and I have determined to (1) solve the problems by hand, and (2) write more than Euler did. He wrote over 30k pages, when typed up.

But it has sparked my interest inventing puzzles to solve. That is the life of a mathematician.
