Oh god... Every time I have mod points I wish there was a "Painfully Ignorant" moderation. Not to punish, but to keep the stupid from potentially infecting others. Like the poster earnestly commenting that a hydrogen economy would deplete all the water in the oceans because H2O would be the source of the hydrogen. Sigh... What if children were to accidentally read crap like that?!?

On reflection, Painfully Ignorant is too good for such posts.

Insane would be a far, far better choice.

I like the idea of an "insane" mod. But it would be misused, just as "troll" has been so often. As the famous tagline said, "Troll is not a substitute for 'I disagree.'"

It is true that certain slashdaughters would vie for the appelation "Insane" and post to get the Insane mod.

However, this is true of any mod label, such as Foolish, Disgusting, Troll, or Luzer.

But Insane is a positive... I kinda wish there was a link to see how "earnest" this poster really was. Everybody knows the oceans will evaporate when we pass through the photonic belt

Well, good news then, cause if you look at today's slashdot feed, you'll see half of the ice in Canada's melted and we're that much closer to that water evaporating, right?
