Short Circuit's Journal: Engaged.

Today, I realized I hadn't told you guys I'm engaged.

I went to tell you, and found Slashdot journals down. I figured they didn't care, but turns out it was brought back up.

Anyway, yeah, I'm engaged to a lovely, smart and funny gal who was already into Linux and tabletop roleplaying when I ran into her. May 20th, 2012.

Not bad for a guy who spent his formative years on Slashdot.

Congratulations. She seemed like a nice one when I met her at BarCamp. Let me tell you from experience, that you are very lucky to find a woman with similar interests. They are pretty rare, and well worth their weight in gold. Remember to treat her well.

I'd like to echo the rest of the comments wishing you well. I also think you shouldconsider Jorg's thoughts inasmuch as I had similar difficulties, too. I'm not worried about your betrothed's mental state, but just as a reminder of how powerful a commitment marriage is. As with anything, there's good and bad (it's almost like they thought of that when writing the traditional vows!) So I would just encourage you to remember to put more effort into your relationship after you're married than now. It real
