Journal Timex's Journal: Google, my Hero! 6

Yeah, I said that.

Many, many moons ago, anyone that knows me that long might remember me asking about where to find a two-page advertisement that Sun Microsystems had put out some time around 1998. It had a picture of Sally Struthers and a caption that said something like "Thinking of running your critical apps on NT? Isn't there enough world suffering?"

Well, it's been found in the November 23, 1998 issue of InfoWorld, on pages 8 and 9.

Needless to say, I'm very happy. :)

    • I'm deeply impressed with MSys2. I installed that, ran some pacman commands to bring in a full tool chain, and compiled Emacs from source. Windows is almost getting nearly kinda civilized.

      • Major thanks to http://www.trishtech.com/2012/04/disable-html5-media-in-mozilla-firefox/ [trishtech.com] for stopping that cursed auto-scrolling. Now in that space it just says Flash or HTML5 needed for video playback. And a special FU to Mozilla for making such a shitty browser, that scrolls the user away from what they're doing.

  • Completely disconnected from all networking sources, go into Firefox options and delete all of the cookies, close it and reopen, Google will be there.

I figure Mozilla isn't going to let any change (monies) slip by.
