Journal prjt's Journal: I HATE THIS!

A week or so ago I installed a customized XP on my computer, earlier this morning I got BSOD. No way too boot it up at all, it's a notebook so options are limited for me. I could chose to reformat and forget about every customization or I could try and solve this problem. I have googled all day but found nothing that would help. I could use a livecd, backup the content to an external drive and then reinstall XP. If I do, is it possible to retrieve the content from the back, including the settings? Theoretically it should work, or not. This sucks because I need it for school and personal projects which I just managed to get starting on. Oh well.
