Scott Walker Celebrates Earth Day by Proposing To Fire 57 Environmental Agency Employees

Happy Earth Day! Today is a day we can all band together and share our love for this beautiful planetâ"or at least drown our sorrows about climate change with nerdy themed cocktails. Later today, President Barack Obama will mark the occasion with a climate-focused speech in the Florida Everglades. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination, had a different idea: Fire a big chunk of the state's environmental staff.

Troll level: Grand Master.

  • There is certainly a lot of stuff written on slashdot that I have never seen. However I have yet to see anyone other than you or me write about The Kevlar Kandidate. I'm pretty sure I've seen more people write about Jindal, Bush, or Christie.
    • Well, I had been interpreting your foaming at the mouth at the mention of Walker as the highest form of Pavlovian affection.
      • Perhaps you're not aware of this. There is a setting here on slashdot, it will post a link on your front page to tell you when someone on your friends list has posted a JE. I saw the link, and I clicked on it. It is not a complicated thing.

That's right. And you responded, in typical Pavlovian fashion. I have my own inability to resist also, but I freely admit it, I'm not proud. You guys are funny, and I'm easily entertained.

And does anybody notice the irony of burning up 100,000 (maybe 200,000) pounds of kerosene to go lecture people on the environment?
