Journal RailGunner's Journal: This one's for the Protestants here... 11

As many of you know, I'm an avid reader - books, blogs, even the cesspool that is comments on news stories.

One thing that I've seen a lot of lately is the typical canard that "the Spirit of God left the Catholic Church centuries ago".

If that were true, my dear protestant brethren (and I'm not being sarcastic, you guys are dear to me, I just want you to come home to the Catholic Church), then please explain to me how:

The Episcopal Church, The Anglican Church, and now the Presbyterian USA church, along with some Lutheran Churches and some Methodist churches are coming out and blessing same sex "marriage".

This completely flies against Scripture.

It's a little ironic to me that the "Sola Scriptura" crowd is ignoring wholesale chunks of Scripture to be politically correct.

The Great Apostasy has begun.

Learn to let go, and show the same respect you expect from others. The purity of your church is not affected by what the others do.

  • Not being burdened with either a Holy Tradition, or a need to Protest against such, I only follow the problem part way.
Conversely, I rejoice in supporting the Pope when he's rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Has the Great Apostasy begun? I don't know, but how many vote for candidates that support abortion, irrespective of church label?
    • I don't know, but how many vote for candidates that support abortion, irrespective of church label?
      Way too many.
      • Yes, they support the mother's rights. As they are supposed to.

Anti-abortionists are not pro-life. If they were they would be against war and the death penalty. As it is they are just a bunch of hypocrites. Post birth abortion is okay to them.

        • The Catholic Church is opposed to the Death Penalty. The Catholic Church is also opposed to any war that is not "Just" -- for an example of a Just War, Pope Francis recently urged that action (military) be taken against ISIS to get them to stop beheading people and setting them on fire. In other words, war is justified when defending the weak.

So in other words, your statement Anti-abortionists are not pro-life. is provably false.
          • The Vatican likes to play charades also. Instead of making war, just stop selling them the weapons. ISIS was created by war. And they are very good clients. So, please save the 'just war' crap for the kindergarteners.

        • It's easy to be against the death penalty. I'd cheerfully see it struck to end the evil of abortion.
But, as Trotsky didn't say [wikiquote.org]: "You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you."
I guess if the Left were consistently anti-war with a Democrat POTUS, all the peacenik crap would seem more a true sentiment, and less a fifth column.

So say I. Let the stonings begin!
