Journal SPAM: I'm Tired 5

It's going to be an interesting week. My wife left this morning and wont be back for a week. I'll be playing Mr. Mom. I've got a sheet with all the times I have to drop-off/pick-up with lists of what kids should be present at each. That's really the biggest thing - everything else is no biggie as long as I don't screw any of that up.

I do have some help. There are a couple real moms who are going to help me with the girls hair for soccer and ballet. I can handle day to day but nothing fancy. The kitchen is stocked and so I wont have to run out and shop. I do the grocery shopping for the family pretty regularly - but not with everyone in tow. And I could do it now - it's just nice to not have it be a necessity.

I have to leave work early to pick them up - so I'll have a funky schedule next week. In the office from 9 - 14 and then back on-line working from home at 20:30. In between I'll be doing homework, dinner, reading time, etc. Probably squeeze some wii time in there too.

Actually, even screwing up the "drop-off" part isn't the end of the world, but you do want to make sure you that you retrieve every kid by the end of the day.

    • This is 100% true. If parents are too late - the school calls the cops. This would not endear me to the wife or parents of the neighbor kids I pick up.

  • I very much remember all my experiences in that role. Add tot hat exercising the dogs first thing int he morning, too;-)
    • The only pets I'm responsible for are the fish in the little aquarium - thank goodness. My wife and her sister are driving across the country with 2 full grown Akitas. I think I've got the easier job in many ways.

  • Your wife will be calling to make sure you remembered to pick everybody up.
