nizo's Journal: Filtering rss feeds

Does anyone have any experience filtering feeds by keyword? I use google to keep an eye on some low volume rss feeds, but it would be nice to watch high volume rss feeds for particular keywords. Anyone have any thoughts on this, especially through google? I am not keen on opening yet another program to watch feeds, but that looks like where I am headed...

I use bloglines for most of my feed reading. They also have an option to subscribe to a search as an RSS feed. The search page has a lot of options, but I'm not sure it has everything you want. If it is good enough, I'd suggest creating the search, then grabbing the RSS link to put into your favorite RSS reader.

It's a firefox plugin that scrolls the feeds in the status bar. But it's still just a bit rough around the edges.

Funnily enough I've been toying with the idea to implement something like that with Gnip. There is the possibility to do it with BlogLines [bloglines.com], a RSS aggregator. So I'm sure that it should be possible with other aggregators.
