I can see some trouble related to server-centric installations. But for the home workstation, it would make Windows people a lot more comfortable with learning a new system.

The idea of each package having a directory of it's own to contain the files is pretty unique. Therefore, you will not find any system which supports packages from this system, or be built except for this distribution. You will not be able to go out and download the latest mozilla

I still dislike the idea though. For pretty much each of the reasons in the "I am clueless" article I disagree with his ideas. Over all it strikes me as a "I can do it, so I will" feel. I'll let the marketplace of ideas let him on his way though. I really don't have a horse in his race.

My opinion is that it went to hell when Van Buren took office. He was the first one who didn't risk the noose for the US.

It just seems that in hindsight the balance of power shifted too heavily toward the Federal side
