The_Fire_Horse's Journal: So how do you fix terrible karma?

My karma is rated at terrible, yet I've been posting positive comments for a year now.

Am I stuck with bad karma forever?

I'm making a couple assumptions

1) Terrible karma limits the number of posts that can be made daily

2) Terrible karma causes a default score of any comments made to be -1.

These two factors (if true) would severely limit the amount of positive moderation you can receive. Many people ignore the admonition to read at negative one when moderating. Ths means that you are missing out on potential moderation by that means. The curtailed posting means that you do not have as much of an opportunity to make insightful comments.

It just takes waiting on a fresh topic, posting early, and being a whore. Repeat until karma gets better.

But more seriously, you can improve your karma, but it takes a lot of time. The cap for bad karma is a lot bigger than the cap for good karma, so you probably have a lot to work off. I see you're still getting an occasional mod down, too, which doesn't help.

Also remember that +1 funny doesn't affect karma while -1 overrated does. Be careful posting f

the general troll tolerance is somewhat lower than normal, thanks to the stormfront guys and the general crapness of the few. Normally i'd just chuckle, but it's getting old. Not that i modded you down.. i kinda feel sorry for you :)
