Journal JoshJ's Journal: Username in sig 3

Metamoderation deliberately strips out the username so that people can't be deliberately targeted in metamod. I just came across a post in metamod where the person posted his own username/initials (just above his sig).

I don't think this is really a "big deal" because metamod is random and you can't get karmascrewed by someone smacking you with 5 downmods, but it's worth thinking about.

  • You can always hit the "context" link and find out exactly who it is anyway, so yes, it's not a big deal.

Doesn't Slashcode do something different if you click "context"? I know it keeps the box checked once you click it, so I wouldn't be too surprised if it has a different effect on the karma on the backend- I haven't looked at the actual code though.
      • AFAIK no, it doesn't. I can click the Context link to open in a new tab and keep the current metamod session open, and it's just linking to the comment local URL, not a special metamod script redirect.
