Journal DaedalusHKX's Journal: Future of "Gun Control" = "Encryption Control" 6

Who here wants to bet that once the guns are nearly extinct (the affordable ammunition market is being dried up as we speak through artificial shortages) we will see another form of "control"?

After all, those in perceived power need to actually ACHIEVE power, sooner or later, else they be overthrown when the mass consensus, for that rare instance, every millenia or so, achieves critical mass and results in mass revolt by the serfs who notice they not only got the short end of the deal, but that they were outright shafted.

So what is the next form of "control" you ask? Simple. My prediction is "encryption control". After all, only "terrorists" and "criminals" have "anything to hide". Or so the "authorities" and braindamaged sheeple tell me.

Two more election cycles in America and Western Europe and we will see ALL non backdoored encryption programs and algorithms declared illegal... taking your Linux laptop on a plane? Voila, free trip to Gitmo for "exporting forbidden encryption" or "possession of subversive materials".

Legislative fiat and Hollywood propaganda has made sure that ALL forms of control become permanent, by being incorporated into the prevalent zeitgeist.

This one, is unlikely to be any different. Remember this when you strive to crush other's rights, yours may soon become a "crime" alongside those you helped destroy.

You can't make your own? Is the shortage affecting prices enough to setup a business?

    • Evidence?

England is now having knife "buy backs" (how can you buy "back" what isn't yours to begin with?) and gift certificate giveaways for weapons turned in, guns are preferred, but I hear steak knives are on the list, as are butter knives. England has a rash of statistically unreported crimes (they report SOLVED crimes only, as far as I've heard through a few publications I subscribe to), however, in the USA, in most jurisdictions, crime is reported in the statistics, whether solved or unsolved, so long
  • those in perceived power need to actually ACHIEVE power, sooner or later

In the US at least, it's later. That mass is nowhere near critical.
    • I disapprove, they've long achieved it, now they're consolidating.

Ask yourself this, when you are stopped by a cop, can you question his motives?

Can you tell him to go and shove his criminal abuse of power where it belongs? (Which is what Click it or Ticket really is, you fully have the right to kill yourself all day long, and only an idiot would deny you that right, using armed force and financial duress (also known as extortion), which is what the Police is.)

Ask yourself, when you buy a gun its already o
      • You misunderstand me. I meant the people have nowhere near the critical mass for fomenting revolution. The critical mass for the status quo was reached in the early 70's at the latest.
        • Actually we're agreed but I think our terms are different.

REVOLT/REBELLION (violence of serfs vs masters) vs Revolution (change of existing system/paradigm)

I actually have this funny feeling that a rebellion, revolt or its like is being fomented by those in charge, not by the people. Right now far too many of the younger generation are beginning to question everything, and it is likely they will have to be intercepted through whatever subversive method the "masters" can concoct, from revolt to "successful
