Journal Erris's Journal: The First Big Consulting Group Goes with Google Apps and ODF

Congratulations are in order for Google. Their applications have won the endorsement of CapGemini, a technical consulting firm with influence over one million big company desktops.

[CapGemini said] it would offer the premier version of this bundle, which gets rid of the advertisements and adds various tweaks in exchange for an annual subscription fee of $20, as part of its much pricier complete desktop solutions package for clients.

This is also a big win for ODF, which Google uses. Any company or government agency that wants to work with the public without buying and forcing people to buy hundreds of dollars worth of software will jump on this. When Open Standards rule, everyone wins.
