Journal iminplaya's Journal: Set the wayback machine, Sherman...to 1993 1

As the danger of another Clinton presidency looms large, it is necessary to put out a little reminder of what we're dealing with

In 1993 Hillary Clinton and David Watkins moved to oust the White House travel office in favor of World Wide Travel, Clinton's source of $1 million in fly-now-pay-later campaign trips that essentially financed the last stages of the campaign without the bother of reporting a de facto contribution. The White House fired seven long-term employees for alleged mismanagement and kickbacks. The director, Billy Dale, charged with embezzlement, was acquitted in less than two hours by the jury. An FBI agent involved in the case, IC Smith, wrote later, "The White House Travel Office matter sent a clear message to the Congress . . . Lying, withholding evidence, and considering - even expecting - underlings to be expendable so the Clintons could avoid accountability for their actins would become the norm." - emphasis mine

Boy! That's starting to sound awful familiar.

On health care, with a little national ID card thrown in for fun:

HRC'S 1994 health care plan, according to one account, included fines of up to $5,000 for refusing to join the government-mandated health plan, $5,000 for failing to pay premiums on time, 15 years to doctors who received "anything of value" in exchange for helping patients short-circuit the bureaucracy, $10,000 a day for faulty physician paperwork, $50,000 for unauthorized patient treatment, and $100,000 a day for drug companies that messed up federal filings. Her response to complaints that this could easily bankrupt small businesses: "I can't be responsible for every undercapitalized small business in America." Her plan also would have required people to carry national identification cards that embedded confidential patient information on computer chips.

That there is a little poke in the ribs of you people who, for some reason, believe that the democratic side stands for freedom any more than the republican side.

The diversion of the Whitewater case begins here:

June 25, 1997
The Washington Post reports that Whitewater prosecutors have been questioning Arkansas state troopers about President Clinton's personal life, including possible extramarital affairs he may have had while Arkansas governor.

And starts in earnest here:

January 16, 1998
Starr receives permission to expand his investigation into whether Clinton and his close friend Vernon E. Jordan Jr. encouraged a 24-year-old former White House intern to lie under oath about her alleged affair with the president.

Effectively squashing any more investigations into Hillary. That movie "Wag the Dog" has it backwards. The sex scandal is the distraction. So you don't hear much about it after:

On April 27,1998, deputy independent counsel Hickman Ewing met with his prosecutors to decide on whether to indict Hillary Clinton. Here's what happened as reported by Sue Schmidt and Michael Weisskopf in their book, Truth at Any Cost: "[Ewing] paced the room for more than three hours, recalling facts from memory in his distinctive Memphis twang. He spoke passionately, laying out a case that the first lady had obstructed government investigators and made false statements about her legal work for McDougal's S&L, particularly the thrift's notorious multimillion-dollar Castle Grande real estate project. . .The biggest problem was the death a month earlier of Jim McDougal. . . Without him, prosecutors would have a hard time describing the S&L dealings they suspected Hillary Clinton had lied about."

And of course the whole thing is neatly wrapped up here:

Nov. 19, 1998
During the first day of impeachment hearings, Starr clears Clinton in relation to the firing of White House travel office workers in 1993 and the improper collection of FBI files revealed in 1996. He also says his office drafted an impeachment referral stemming from Whitewater in 1997, but decided not to send it because the evidence was insufficient.

Leaving only what people "really" wanted to know about. It will be most unfortunate if she gets the nomination. It should set the Party's(there can be only one) karma from "Bad" to "Terrible". To me, it has been for a very long time. A truly close look would be warranted before re-installing them. Talk about your trojans...

The Clinton's were their Darlings, Bill being ID'd for his charisma and intelligence when offered a Rhodes. Why do you think those are offered anyway. It's like the movie "The Devil's Advocate".

Cecil Rhodes and the various Round Table groups are a pretty good investigation. These people are the crew behind Gore delivering his "chicken little" on global warming. That's an effort to herd us all in
