Mitch Albom said this morning that Vick will play again unless he is in jail for the rest of his potential career. He may have a point: the NBA wouldn't even let the Warriors fire Latrell Sprewell for choking his coach. Mike Tyson fought again after biting Evander Holyfield's ear off.

I dunno though. Killing dogs is not as serious as rape or murder of people, of course, but people don't forget it, and he is going to be plagued by this forever, and any team that has him will have a PR nightmare on their hands for just as long.

One of the big distinctions I see between some of the crimes of former/current "stars" sometimes given in comparison to Vick's alleged crime (things like rape excepted), is that some of the other crimes (biting someone's ear off in a fight?) are, as I understand it, crimes committed due to the electricity of the moment. Well the truth of the matter is Michael Vick is a lousy quarterback. No question, an absolutely rare talent, and world class athlete, but a poor QB. The new commish, Roger Goodell's mission is to stamp out the bad apples from the NFL. Make it more about good players and get rid of those that give it a bad name. Michael Vick will only play if he gets off on the charges, and I'm not even sure of that. Players with a rapsheet have been banned on just being indicted in stuff (see PacMan Jones), so I don't think Vick will be back, at all...
