Journal antenore's Journal: Google is going to contribute on distcc project

From distcc site:

distcc is a program to distribute builds of C, C++, Objective C or Objective C++ code across several machines on a network. distcc should always generate the same results as a local build, is simple to install and use, and is usually much faster than a local compile.

As usual this morning I was reading the distcc mailing list , and I saw an email from Fergus Handerson an engineer working for Google.

At Google we have a number of patches to distcc that we've been using for some time. We are also working on some more substantial improvements. We would like to contribute these back to the community.

It sounds great! Isn't it? distcc is a good and mature project but that always needs actors like Google. Stay tuned folks, in the next weeks we will surely hear again news from distcc. Maybe with a new official release? We will see...
