Journal Alien54's Journal: U.S.P.O. to Revoke Clear Channel Live Concert CD Patent

Via a detailed report from Digital Media Wire: The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has announced that it will revoke a patent on live concert recording technology owned by radio and concert promotion giant Clear Channel Communications, following a successful challenge launched last year by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), a digital civil liberties advocate. The patent was related to the process used by Clear Channel's Instant Live unit (now part of Live Nation), which captures and mixes live music concerts and then burns them onto CD so fans can purchase them at the venue immediately following the show.
