Microsoft Corp. shares fell as much as 2.8 percent, the most in 10 months, after Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer signaled sales of the new Windows Vista programs are unlikely to meet some analysts' highest estimates.
... Ballmer's comments left analysts confused as to whether their own expectations are out of line.
Is the tipping point really here? Because Vista has been such a dissapointment, Mac and Linux are the only upgrades on the block. The easiest and cheapest upgrade is now a gnu/Linux download. A significant market shift will liberate vendors and users alike from Microsot's power to push and punish.
