Speaking of MST3K and soup, I have no idea what episode this happened in, but after Joel was distracted he says, "I was just thinking about soup". I say that when I get asked a question and I haven't been paying attention, and nobody ever gets the reference. And that's why I say it.

And soup gets listed on our grocery list as, "Earth vs. soup"
usually right above, "what's potatoes, precious?"
and "hasenpfeffer," which is blinderese for "carrots."
(If i didn't know better, i'd swear this hasenpfeffer was carrots!)
