  • Last I heard it was legal [nwsource.com] to unlock [pcworld.com] your cell phone.

Now go get your phone (in June when it's released) and give us a review. That is one sexy [wired.com] beast.

Cingular does unlock their phones if you have an hour to spend talking to their customer support. The longer you've been a customer, the easier it becomes but the trick is to find that one special person who really cares about the customer.

The problem is cingular had to change their whole system to facilitate the features that are so cool (like non-linear voice mail) in the iPhone (or whatever they will end up calling it). There was a good piece in Time [time.com] detailing the phone.
  • Put on a bib or something. You're getting Slashdot all slimy. ;-)
    • I could take that down a slightly different road, but Smoocheroo has been in such good spirits lately, I am going to leave it as an exercise to the perverted reader. :-)
  • apple got to you by using U2 as the pusher of their products.

And remember that Apple (Records) was the label that put out the Beatles. If we can fit Led Zepplin in there somehow we'll have a trifecta.
  • Cisco is suing Apple over "iPhone" [wired.com] name.

    From the article:
"Cisco entered into negotiations with Apple in good faith after Apple repeatedly asked permission to use Cisco's iPhone name," the WSJ quotes Mark Chandler, Cisco's general counsel, saying. "There is no doubt that Apple's new phone is very exciting, but they should not be using our trademark without our permission."
