John McCain declares Illegal images must be reported

Seen on c|net, Declan McCullagh writes

"Millions of commercial Web sites and personal blogs would be required to report illegal images or videos posted by their users or pay fines of up to $300,000"

The legislation has been drafted by the Republican Presidential hopeful, John McCain.

McCain's proposal is called the "Stop the Online Exploitation of Our Children Act". It requires that reports be submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which in turn will forward to the relevant police agency.

What's coming next? In case you think that this is a one-party effort, look at the closing statement, by Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY), where he declares that he will introduce similar legeslation targeting "social networking sites" and sex offenders.

...pictures of like rush limbaugh? He scares kids.Same with al franken for that matter, and michael moore scares adults! Even if one likes his movies you have to admit he is frightening! How about images of WH press conferences, all the "reporters" there and the spokes liar of the week? Seems fair enough, they never cover real news or ask real questions, leading to all the childrunz being exploited on down the line for generations. Skeery stuff. OK, leave out helen thomas as half way cool, but the rest of t
