Journal Kopl's Journal: Draft of Kopl's Laws 2
Ok, I want to make some rules that are to be followed if your goal is to get the truth from a debate. You can understand whether or not it's the other participants goal as well by whether or not they follow them. Starting now, I also intend to follow them.
0.No incorrect Name Calling:
This means don't say someone is a foo if being a foo means having characteristics that that person doesn't have.
1.No choosing an extreme example of something and pretending it's the norm.
2.Don't exaggerate stuff. Period.
3.Don't use analogies/metaphors as a way to associate your point with something good, or the other person's point with something bad if they are that way for reasons other than the point you are debating.
This is a draft, so suggestions are appreciated.
