I am walkabout in the Dreamtime America, It is foggy and midnight at the Well of America's soul, and the fount may be dry. I do not wish to fight the demons emerging from inside my present state of mind, and as an effort to avoid slipping into hebephrenic dementia, I engage in free-falling raving to wile away the darkness.
Although it is a predominant factor in the categorisation of the present societal divisive fracturing, conservatism is not the true source of American ills, which is instead subsets within conservatism. Even that is an overly broad definition, exposing too large of a grouping. Luminescence, derivative of cool observation and deduction, provides the diagnosis that Contemporary Conservatism in the US is diseased from infestations of parasitical political theories. Conservatism has become host to a myriad of right-sided extremist thought, which has taken advantage of the RNCC's self-marketed schemingmatrix of itself as The Big Circus Tent of Inclusiveness. Realists, employing Machiavellian machinations jacked conservatism from its righteous practitioners and wrapped themselves in its stolen mantle, a long time ago, and the GOP never looked back. One can find theocons, paleocons, hypocrittercons, moronicons, Imperialcons, imperilingcons, fascistcons geldedcons, derelictcons, impeachacons, and yes, of course, those preponderate renunciators and betrayers of their past claimed political affiliations, the NeoConnivers, who presently still hold an extremely limited ascendancy within the Party. The GOP is chasmaniacally schismatical, approaching critical mass, in danger of becoming a major humpty-dumptied clusterfuck capable of causing mayhem if it blows. Even though Conservatism is fractured and headless, it still continues to grow, and revisionaries within the GOP's Little Shop of Manufactured Terror keep coming up with even more phantasmagorical depictions of the Big Circus Tent of GOP Inclusiveness, as the Republican Party lumbers on as the Party of Nothing for Everybody. It is like the cockroach that has been smashed and bisected into two parts by the bottom of your shoe, which still manages to get both of itselves under the refrigerator before you can grab a paper towel to pick up its guts, and frightfully these brain dead Neoconnivers, running only on instinct, whilst foully oozing a poisonous dark grey/green ichor still seem to be in semiauto control. With lurching jerks, they continue pulling America inexorably into its setting sun.
The GOP's dance with the Lady in the red masque began in 1968, when Nixon, who had noticed Goldwater's appeal to southern racists in 1964, parlayed his broken oath from a Checkers Past dog day into the Republican candidate left standing in 1968. Using classic Nixonian darkevil; sectarian politicised tactics, more often recognised as "The Southern Strategy, Tricky Dick transubstantiated crackers disaffected with the Great Society into GOP faithful using his own unique brand of Class Warfare, and ably aided by another of the American 20th century crossdressers of manifest evils, Herbert Hoover. Using hot button terminology that Pavlovian strategists had effectively preprogrammed, Nixon opened up the Party of Lincoln's Ass End wide and bent it over upon the realists' altar of expedience, then allowed it to be ravished in a nonconsensual act of obscenity, as he stood by and pissed on Honest Abe's tombstone by embracing the Southern Racist.
Nixon won, The RNCC learned their lesson, as well as proper placement in power politics' dominmatrix and never looked back as they spun out of control into the event horizon of situationalism into a still continuing beingness of ever always falling...falling in a long-term spiraling declination of moral degradation . This perversion of ideals infected Conservatism with an autoimmune deficiency, that when coupled up with the Big Circus Tent, is multiplied exponentially, and suddenly every hare-brained ideation of right-sided extremism has been given a means to bootstrap itself up and out of the quagmire of the fringe, get sugar-coated, and placed upon America's plate, falsely advertised as a type of warm and fuzzy right-centrist conservatism.
The Republican descent into situationalism occurred just prior to the historical primary purveyors of Americanised Moral Relativism's abrupt 180° polarity shift within the common misConceptualised Linear Political Scale from left to right, and concomitant NeoConnivers' conversion from Trotskyite Hawks and the NewLeft's PolitiqueChic into the Gimper's FauxCon, The Apostolic ReaganComics, who were also multivalent apostates: Stalinists, who had fled the purges into Troskyite Ideologues - into Rabidly AntiNaziLeftists - into CIA paid Stooge Providers of Americanised Individualist ArtForms as a foil to Stalinist Realism in the Post WWII EuroTheatre of Cold War. Their 2nd Gen offspring became foundational NewLeftys, and Graduates Schooled in the Corporation Backed Foreign Policy Educational Institutes. This should not be perceived as obfuscating background noise. It is the signal, and a continuous loud disharmonic thread of semantics gamed as divisive dialectics used as coercive instruments effectuating change can be heard throughout the whole time line. No commonality of a political positional permanence other than chameleon like transitory fluidity, and early entry into strategic associative renunciations to avoid bearing blame's responsibility.
A convergence did began to appear in th early 70's. A shift into strident expressions of US Socialistic Hawkishness, largely viewed as deviant aberrancy by the rest of the then yet to be cowed into acquiescence AntiVietnam empowered American left, and the ensuing reactionary flight in fright to the right. A brief synopsis:
Democratic Senator 'Scoop' Jackson, also known as Senator Boeing by the defense contractor lobbyists because he never saw a defense expenditure worthy of deletion, had the following persons working on his staff during the early 70's;Elliot Abrams, Doug Feith, Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz . Jackson and Daniel Patrick Moynihan partnered in their 70s creation of the Coalition for a Democratic Majority. It's original and early membership included Elliott Abrams, Stephen Bryen, Jeane Kirkpatrick, and Norman Podhoretz. Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz were members of Ford Administration's 'Team B' which vastly overstated Soviet capabilities.
Carter's election in 1976 was a pivotal point for many of the Democratic Hawks. Many of these same previously cited individuals created The Committee for the Present Danger in response to Carter's belief that Palestinians deserved their own state. Ronnie's run for the presidency was fortunately for him, at a time when these pure American relativists were on the move, The Pro-Israeli Hawks, formerly deeply involved in American socialism pressed hard for Reagan's 1980 election, and its members were rewarded with prominent positions within his Administration. Maybe this isn't as great of a strectch as it seems, since both sides seemed desirous of assuaging any guilt of, and deflecting any blame from former associations by expressing AntiSoviet fervency laid out in terms couched in the lingo of radicalised religiosity.
The rabid blind-feith belief in fallacy by the GOP Base of the Rank and Defiled: that Reagan epitomised core conservatism, should be seen as the spin that it is. Trotskyites, and Democratic Scoop Jackson hawks, limp wristed slcialistic libs, the whole lot of them, were appointed to primary positions inside the Asleep at the Wheel Presidency of Reagan, who upon rational reflection, had by this time, transparently begun his long goodbye as a tenacious rogue protein resolutely worked its way up through Reagans' brainstem, into his cerebellum and on through his cerebrum. Too many unseen hands were in actuality working policy within the Reagancomedy. Too few were held accountable for their actions in the ongoing criminal enterprise commonly referred to as "Iran/Contra".
Reagan was certainly no real conservative, but without a doubt was the consummate Post WWII Pitchman for American media. Reagan was capable of walking directly out of a Hollywood TV producer's office onto the sound stage where B-grade cowboy TV shows were being made, and with cum acquired during his previous scheduled appointment still running down his cheeks, pitching the inane product of a soap additive to the public so effectively, its manufacturer became a Corporate powerhouse.
The NeoConnivers just packed up and walked away from Iran/Contra, just as some are doing this very day from bushido imperialism, and will gladly hide under a rock provided by some right-sided policy tank until time and neocon circlejerking self-referencing publications clean their public image into acceptability again.
If you think I rave as a madman here, please patronise me momentarily and read just a little refresher about Iran/Contra. Ledeen and Abrams make an excellent starting point. If you desire more, remembering Ghorbanifar's conning the ReaganCons is amusing. The story of the Indicted CIA agent, Duane Clarridge who was pardoned by the named material witness in the trial and president of the USA, GHW 'loopless' Bush as one of his last official acts, before leaving on the midnight train to the Bush Ancestral Home in Kennwefukdapoor, Maine, offers illumination also.
So the problem should not be viewed as one of true conservatism's.
It should be discerned as partisan flip-flopping relativists' engaging in Conservatism's jacking. Diabolic dialecticians discharging diarrheal diatribes, intending dichotomisation and discordance within society.
No Real Conservative could possibly be still in support of Bush. Search for Andrew Bacevich and Justin Raimondo on the web for good strong Bush dissent from conservatives.
