Journal Quintios's Journal: Who do I tell? 3

Who do I tell that the new Slashdot design sucks? I liked the fact that I could read someone's subject line and immediately see the rating given right next to it. Now my eyes gotta go back and forth and back and forth because the rating is on the far right of the screen, as far away from a post's subject line as you can get... I'm going to get headaches, and it's probably going to cause me to not visit much anymore. I'll play with the settings to see if I can get the rating back over on the left, but I doubt that it's possible.

Don't like the new design, at all. :\ Yes, yes, I know there was a time for feedback, but I'm no web wizard. What am *I* going to say?

Oh, here's something else. I just put the 'p' tag in after my first paragraph, and it's being treated like the 'BR' tag. Bleh. I just tried the 'BR' tag, and it doesn't function at all.

  • When I saw the first cut on search.pl, I was going to post and tell you to tell /dev/null or some other cunning comeback. But what you have there is a usability issue, so maybe emailing Rob is in order. His address is around here somewhere.
  • Too much right aligning going on here. I liked the nice, big, easy-to-find-and-click-on 'Read more' link being the very first thing on the line, before the 'X of Y comments' bit. I would look at the number of comments but the 'Read more' link was always what I clicked on.

I also liked seeing the score right next to the subject. I always like to know if what I'm about to read is funny or serious, and having to jerk my eyes all the way to the right side of the page (excuse me for having a 1600x1200 monitor) re
  • Just noticed that the 'Read more...' link is now on the left, where God intended, and the 'X of Y comments' has moved to the right. Sweet!
