Wow. So Sony just decided to price themselves out of the next console generation? $600 per console + probably $60 per game. Insane. And all so they can shove Blue Ray on people. Do that many people really have HDTV yet? The upgrade required is way too steep for me, I think I'll sit this one out for a while. There's still plenty of great PS2, PS1 and XBox games I havent' finished anyway.

I'm only a Sony Fan-boy in the sense that I think the PS2 was the best of this generation's consoles. I also own an XBox and a Dreamcast, and had full access to a Gamecube. As you said, they are going on their past reputation. I don't think they have learned ANYTHING from their success with the PS2, and it was wishful thinking on my part to think: "I really liked the PS2, my initial vote is on PS3 for the new gen"
