Ra5pu7in's Journal: Poetry Question (not about reading)

This isn't about the poetry reading that johndiii is working on. Instead it is a question that came up as I posted an original poem on my deviantart account. I had to choose from various literary styles for the poem - sonnet, haiku, that kind of thing. The poem I had written didn't seem to fit any of the defined styles, though it has a clear meter and rhyme pattern, so I chose their category fixed. However, I am curious whether it is an actual style with a name. Even more so, I am curious if any published poetry is written like this.

The meter is very simple. Five line verses. First, second and fifth line have seven syllables. Third and fourth lines have four syllables. The rhyme pattern is spread across each verse pair (in my case I only did one pair). It would be like this: abcdb aecde.

Any ideas?

I don't think that that's a preestablished form;-) But since it has its own internal rule set "fixed" sounds right. Do you have a link for it?

Very, VERY nice. It flows perfectly and the rhyme scheme works very well. Awesome. I especially liked the dual connotation of I think it was "every crease explored." Subtle, but very nice. I look forward to reading more;-)
