RradRegor's Journal: Goodbye old flame

I said goodbye to my old flame in NH today. About eighteen years ago it was love at first sight. I was an undergrad, she was a TA. A TA with T&A, always the best kind. It might have been a flash infatuation, here today gone tomorrow, but I wound up working with her at a nearby research institution, and I just fell for her all the way. We were close friends but I never got anywhere with her. She was older and had a daddy complex, always dating much older men. I suppose I never had a chance, but ten years into being married I'm finally letting go for real. Maybe its not until your marriage hits the rocks that you realize how much baggage you're carrying around, and this is one I can't carry anymore.
