Journal by smitty_one_each

America is suddenly angry at the laxity, incompetence, and polarizing politics of the Obama administration, the bad optics of the president putting about in his bright golf clothes while the world burns. Certainly, no recent president has failed on so many fronts â" honesty, transparency, truthfulness, the economy, foreign policy, the duties of the commander-in-chief, executive responsibilities, and spiritual leadership.

It's a great article, but, if it doesn't translate into candidates offering real reform if elected, then it's just so much whinging about.
Furthermore, Obama is a symptom, not the disease. Had his golfing fixation crippled him in 2008 the way it does now, the NTRCU (No-Talent Rodeo Clown Union) would have provided a similar piece of work.

  • Today you're trying to take the side of President Lawnchair not doing - or being capable of doing - anything. This is rather contrary to your assertions last week that Obama is on the verge of propelling us into a Fascist Nightmare state.

Or are you trying to bait me in to pointing out that Obama has not taken nearly as much vacation as his predecessor (which is actually surprising considering how much Obama borrowed his actions from the playbook of that same predecessor)?

Now this is better commentary than that which you've been putting out of late.

Unfortunately, isn't this laziness vs. strongman similar to the ignorance vs. evil-genius dichotomy pushed forth under Bush II by his opponents?

Yes, role reversal has been key throughout. Damn near word for word from both sides. Literally the "mirror gag". Will the poles flip again in 2016? Eh, doesn't matter. As long as it's one or the other, it's just the same old same old.

I almost closed out my comment by saying that I was channeling you.

          • Why me? I just strip away the fluff and relay the obvious in single syllable words when possible. Eh, maybe it's my disinterest in the outcome that puts everybody off. Without having a dog in this race, all I can do is call the play by play as it is. You could say I'm *losing my opinion*, and get my jollies from watching the dysfunctional.

            • my disinterest in the outcome

You sure have a lot to say for someone who claims to be disinterested. Why invest so much energy into running around telling everyone they're wrong if you are disinterested?

              • I said I don't care about the outcome. The action arouses me to no end.. It's the show I find very entertaining. I go to a Cubs game, I don't care who wins (a lot of good it's gonna do me), I'm just out enjoying the game and a few beers. You are definitely fun to watch, but you personally lose points on style. And besides, I don't say you're "wrong", I just say you are natural. There is nothing "wrong" with that. It just makes all your words sound funny and stuff.

                Hey batter Hey batter...

You're missing the point. Smitty (and others) are trying to claim that Obama is somehow both incompetent and on the verge of launching the NWO, and they don't seem at all bothered by the obvious contradiction.

I can't speak for all non-fans of GWB, but I myself not once claimed that GWB was an evil genius or even of marginal competence. I and every non-fan I have ever met have consistently viewed GWB as being of extraordinary incompetence while being directed primarily by the puppetmaster Cheney (who

  • With that nice girl in the Lincoln Bedroom. What's her name? Somebody Johansson, I believe.

So, what is this? Are you picking up on every meme that drops its poop on your screen today?

  • > Obama is a symptom, not the disease ...that Obama (and ilk, of course) are indeed the disease, and America's ailments are the symptoms.

And no doubt America was unhinged, war-weary and esp. after the supposed almost financial collapse, when we elected BHO in 2008, but TFAuthor conveniently omits BHO's flabbergasting (even to BHO) 2012 re-election. The problem is, like people my age and younger no longer expecting Social Security to be there when we're old, even though there's been no official pronounce

    • we probably won't ever go back to being hinged

Certainly not painlessly, and not without a serious outburst of leadership.

It looks like anyone running for any office of significance who's not on board with America's comeuppance will simply be legally badgered out of trying to be a part of any leadership.

p.s. I hereby dub such people "candidacy trolls", after one of the Left's fun, go-to phrases that I have to see all the time in the tech news, "patent trolls". And I ascribe to it what I envision are the same kinds of connotations; stifling innovation, abuse of the system, bottom-dwelling.

The biggest mistake you can make is to believe that you are working for someone else.
