Wow, i replied to a journal entry by the_mad_poster and got quite a few replies. I didn't even respond to his JE, but to one of the articles (now archived) he linked to. Evolutionism stirs up quite a few people.

As long as you can differentiate between "rabid atheists who think evolution is the only possible way it can be" and "scientific types who understand it's currently the best-fit theory but will change when any new scientific evidence is offered".
The idea of the Evolutionist is that they believe that Science will eventually explain everything. Whether it will or won't in not the question, perhaps only time will tell, but to believe that it will (not that there is a possibility,

I suppose I don't equate this belief with a religion, because it's so un-dogmatic. The only dogma is that the human senses can be trusted to give accurate information (see Descartes for a proof of this. =P) and all else is negotiable.
