philovivero's Journal: Journal Entry?

Sometimes I come to my page because I need to check out replies to my replies, as it were. And I see this journal thing, and it amuses me to see what I was thinking and doing six months ago when I last noticed I had a journal.

So now I'm doing a blog, which is much more often updated than this. I keep it at my friendster blog spot. It really isn't that much better, though, being as it's mostly blogglefodder.

I'm doing MySQL DBAism, which is interesting, since I started my career as a MSSQL DBA, then became a Sybase DBA, then became an Oracle DBA (I thought it'd be a good career move over Sybase). But then, I became a MySQL DBA, which went against everything I thought was Right and Proper about DBAing. PostgreSQL maybe. But... MySQL?!

Well now I'm a few years into MySQL DBAing, and I'm really not sure I want to go back. I would probably try out PostgreSQL, given a chance, but certainly not Oracle, Sybase, or (DREAD!) MSSQL.

I'm still doing Blender renders. I'm better at it now, but not much.

I guess I'll check back in another 6-8 months and read this entry, sit smiling for a moment, then make another. Until then... ta ta!
