It was my birthday yesterday, and this morning, while walking to the bus stop, I found a mint condition PAL copy of Ico in the window of a hock shop.

      Well, the soundbyte version is that Ico [gamespot.com] is a long out of print game from 2001 that received the highest praise and the lowest sales. It had an enthusiastic cult following, and if it had shifted more units it could have been the Katamari Damacy of its day.

      In the game, you control a boy who is trying to escape from a huge castle. There is -- as always -- a girl to rescue. Each room of the castle is a puzzle that can be solved by using the characters co-operatively. The graphics have a washed out / candlit [gamespot.com]
