Kristina at Science News writes "Skeptical, inquisitive, imaginative, democratic — these traits are some that believers in conspiracy theories share. A group of British researchers tested and questioned 257 British adults. Those who believed conspiracy theories about the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon shared personality traits and characteristics, including: backing one or more conspiracy theories unrelated to 9/11, frequently talking about 9/11 conspiracy beliefs with likeminded friends and others, taking a cynical stance toward politics, mistrusting authority, endorsing democratic practices, feeling generally suspicious toward others and displaying an inquisitive, imaginative outlook."

  • Nice bait, "Science News". I think you'll find TFA isn't nearly as flattering. Or truthful. Actually, it's wicked.

Take, for instance, the "conspiracy theory" the researchers "made up"; depending on what one means by "the government is using mobile phone technology to track everyone all the time", an airtight case can be made that it isn't a "conspiracy theory" at all. Governments may not have real-time access to your cell-phone's location, but it is a fact that they have retrospective access to everybod

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and, whatever you hit, call it the target.
