Ask Slashdot: Middleware and Transaction Processing

Architect asks "So, CORBA is a blast on Linux. The problem is that CORBA is not the only piece required in most enterprise shops. Most shops require and are using Transactional Middleware (Tuxedo, Open OLTP...) These products support OSI/TP, XA, and other protocols for communications. I need to interface to the Transactional Middleware, and even better, I need Transactional Middleware for Linux if I ever want to fit it into the enterprise. People do not want -only- Linux. They have an investment in their mainframes. They want to put a new application on Linux with the ability to interface to their old applications and support a "real" user base. They then front-end all of this with CORBA, or DCOM. To date, nobody can tell me what TP monitors are supported under Linux. A brief note from BEA describes an effort to modify their source tree for Linux. Do any you know of work in this area?"
